What kind of body do you want?

I work with a lot of people and although my focus is capacity (being able to do more) you can only spend about 38 seconds in a gym before you realize that everyone around you is more concerned about how they look naked. They may not say it (some do) but everyone thinks about it. Rock hard abs, slender legs, tone arms, 2% bodyfat… I think they’re also tan in this dream with a fat bank account and a cool car, but the point is how we look is on everyone’s mind. We all generally care more about how we look than anyone else does, but for the sake of this post, I’m here to deliver disappointing news. You’ve got the body you’ve got. You can definitely make changes. Numerous members here have lost upwards of 30-40lbs, some more. But your skeleton doesn’t change and the muscles that cover it don’t change much either. The fat fluctuates easiest, but I get the impression that everyone thinks they can look like the people they see on tv. That if you work hard enough, you’ll alter your own DNA and wake up with a new, more streamline pelvis, or shoulder girdle. These are fixed structures. I make a very appreciated living helping people improve themselves, but sometimes the expected goals are outside the scope of diet and exercise. I want you to be happy. If you have weight to lose I’ll help you lose it. If you’re weak, I’ll make you stronger. But when you look at yourself naked in the mirror, think about these olympic athletes and their vastly different body types. These are some of the most physically dominate human beings on the planet. Not movie stars… athletes.

Something to think about.
